I wanted to do this for a while, a realistic version of Alf. Not a gritty reboot as I usually do.
This somehow also involved making the character less family friendly. The program's family values are so fucking annoying. I think I pictured Alf with Futurama's Bender's Personality.

I must say I always interpreted his snout as a little trunk like in a Tapir.

Bender was anti-social and untrustworthy to the max. Alf would really try to help others -but had to hide from the Authorities.

Truly you captured the essense of - alienness here.

The TV series ended on a cliffhanger -and I kept hoping that they would continue it -but.... Fresh Prince, Fresh Prince, Fresh Prince. Same for "Lilo & Stitch" replaced by -the Replacements ! I'm trying to recall the TV movie that supposedly wrapped up the storyline.

There was a pathetic attempt to revive ALF in a kind of X-Files/The Prisoner kind of way a few years ago. It was based on the premise that ALF was finally publicly revealed and was put into gov't quarantine and tried to repeatedly escape. This is a much better attempt at relevance.
